The aim of the game is to collect hens in coops that you battle to keep and steal using a variety of farmyard animal miscreants.

When the farmer card is randomly drawn from the pile the player with the most hens in their coops at that moment wins the round. First player to win three rounds wins. You’ll need the perfect balance of blind luck, tactical nuance and a willingness to screw someone over.

How to play

Lay the four coops out like so
and shuffle the rest of the pack

The player who does the best chicken impression goes first, taking the top card from the pile

If you pick up
one of these

You HAVE to lay it
on one of the coops

At this point all the coops are free, so put it where you like

Now things get interesting when you pick up one of these

If there are no cocks already on the corresponding coop, play yours now and the coop is yours along with any of the hens in there

Other players now need to play 2 cocks to win control of the coop

If this happens you get your cock back
so start saving for 3 cocks to get your revenge

Other cards you may pick up include the Rat. Play him and you can steal a card from another player
