About Us
Cocks is the feathery baby of husband and wife team of designers Nathan and Anna.
One night when giggling to himself about how funny it was that there was an American college football team called the Gamecocks, Nathan wondered what a game called Cocks would actually entail. Having in-laws who kept chickens meant he could go full method, studying their character and intricate social structures, submerging himself in their way of life over several weekends.
With only the risk of Avian flu holding him back, a rough gameplay idea formed and some initial illustrations were made and printed out using a business card printing service to test the idea. To everyone's suprise after the very first game they realised that not only did the game work, but it was actually bloody good fun.
Further tweaks were made to the rules as we drove every friend, family member and games-nut mad with session after session of play testing. The illustrations were finalised and a manufacturer sourced.
And so COCKS the game was born, nurtured and released into the world. Massive thanks to all the family friends and workmates who helped us get there. We hope you enjoy it...
